Forgotten his American Name

Yehudi Mosowitz scrimps and saves and can finally emigrate to America. On the boat from Europe he thinks up a classic "American name". When he gets to Ellis Island the immigration officer asks him his name and he says in Yiddish "Shoyn fargessen!" (I've forgotten).

The immigration officer makes a note and says "Right, Sean Ferguson."
